We are pleased to announce that DETAC’s Learning Management System (LMS) course: Financial Education, has launched! The course has two lessons that include a short quiz and a final cumulative quiz. Each quiz requires a 70% score or better to progress to the next lesson.
Lesson Descriptions:
Lesson 1: ABLE 101 NRC
In this lesson a team from the ABLE National Resource Center will take you through the nuts-and-bolts of ABLE Accounts: who is eligible, how to choose an ABLE plan, how to open an ABLE account, deposition money into ABLE, Qualified Disability Expenses, and more.
Lesson 2: Shared solutions: Improving Results for Financial Wellbeing
In this session Tobey Partch-Davies, Ph.D. takes a broader view of financial planning for people with disabilities, personal budgeting, financial planning, how to save on a limited income, statutory limits on people who receive SSI and SSDI, social attitudes about money and work, self-direction in the process and considerations when working with culturally diverse, unbanked or marginalized populations.
